Ingredients
- 16 oz shelf stable gnocchi
- 6 cloves garlic
- 1/2 bunch parsley
- 1/2 stick unsalted butter
- 3 sprigs fresh sage
- Freshly grated parmesan reggiano
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Bring four quarts of salted water to a boil. Cook the gnocchi to al dente according to the package directions and set aside.
- While the gnocchi is boiling, finely mince six cloves of garlic.
- Preheat a stainless steel skillet over medium-high heat. Add half a stick of butter to the pan and reduce heat to medium-low. Carefully brown the butter and stir regularly with a wooden spoon. The butter should be a nutty brown color when ready (approximately 10 minutes). Take care to not burn the butter - if it burns, you must start over!
- Add three sprigs of fresh sage and the minced garlic to the browned butter. Sauté for 20 seconds on medium heat.
- Add the fresh gnocchi to the pan, taking care to evenly distribute the gnocchi in a single layer across the bottom of the pan. Allow the gnocchi to cook undisturbed on medium heat for 2-3 minutes. This will create a nice, crispy bottom.
- Add salt and pepper to taste. Gently stir.
- Plate the gnocchi. Garnish with freshly grated parmesan and chopped parsley.
